Default Awful First Experience with GMPD

www.gmpartsdirect.com

I will never buy from them as long as I live and I recommend you do the same.

I ordered headlamps and fog lamps as a set on January 7th. It appeared (AFTER I ORDERED) that one of the headlamps was backordered. They immediately sent out an e-mail telling me about my order and that one of the products was backordered. Didn't think much about it, would you? Okay so a few weeks go by, nothing from them. So I decide to send them an e-mail. I wait a day, two... three? Four days later and I get a response from them. What pisses me off about a four day response? The fact that they charge an extra $30 on shipping on EACH PRODUCT (so $166 headlamps cost $210) because they say it'* "for their internet service team". It'* about January 23rd and they say the product will be in February 3rd, and if you can't wait that long we can ship the rest or cancel the order. So I say great! We will wait! Come February 3rd, 4th, 5th... once again no response from them that the order has been shipped. I send them another e-mail and get stuck waiting 3 days this time. Wow! They're getting better (NOT). I tell them that this wait is ridiculous... so what do they decide to do? They just ship the products they have in stock. I didn't tell them to, they just decided to. I e-mail them wondering how I am supposed to drive with one headlamp. They never replied. I told them that I wanted the other product shipped immediately. They never replied. I told them we were sending the product back and they were paying for shipping. They responded and told me that once the other headlamp becomes available, they will ship it. Well it'* been about a month and it still hasn't been shipped, nor have I heard from them. And just yesterday, my dad realized that the headlamp was broken in the shipping process. Haha great! The little triangular piece that keeps the headlamp more secure in the bay snapped off. No problem for GMPD though, they'll just glue it back on and ship it to the next victim who orders from them.

Pathetic service. I'll never buy from them again.

they are good for the price. expect it to take a 2 weeks to a month though, thats NORMAL.

I've never ordered anything fragile from them but probably placed at least 10 orders, all took at least a week and a half and the longest took 2 months.

If you need the parts fast talk to your GM dealer. If you want to save a few bucks wait for GMPD to ship your stuff.

I have mixed feelings. I had to get on them about getting my stuff out to me in time, but after that it was a couple of days and it arrived. I did have a little trouble with them sending me the wrong unit and then not taking it back. They won't do it.

Let me get this straight, you're mad because they couldn't ship a product that isn't in stock? They let you know that they didn't have any available and they'd ship it once they recieved the product. If there aren't any headlamps being produced by GM to ship to the dealer, what are they supposed to do? Use magic to create one out of thin air to send to you?

Read the whole thing or don't respond at all.

They let me know the product was backordered, fine. They LIED about the arrival time and never told me what happened.

They shipped what they had in stock with no word from me to. I would have gladly waited for the product to come back in stock. Now they don't respond to me when I ask them.

Then the product was broken when it got here.

Why are they under any obligation to tell you about the arrival? If it'* backordered, it'* backordered. Did they send you an incorrect part as a substitute?

Are you showing an attitude when you email them? Having an attitude will quickly get you nowhere with most vendors.

Overall, I'm sorry to hear about your experiences. All my dealings with them have been very positive.

The customer is not at fault here in anyway that I can see. He had a bad experience and he stated it. If you had a good experience your welcome to post it here but don't jump his case because he didn't.
