He'll probably just sand it down a bit and repaint that section primarily, and blend it with the rest of the roof.

Here in OK, half the Bonneys I see that are 6 yrs or older look like that and worse. Ours has no paint left on the trunk and roof. It all boils down to UV and GM primer/paint not adhereing well.

I have a similar problem on my spoiler, paint fading and clear coat starting to peel off. My roof is stating to rust like yours, at the windshield...

That picture could be a picture of my car, I have the exact same problem in the exact same spot. Since I bought my car it'* started fading like that just above the passenger side B-pillar too.

So much work to do, so little money...

My car had started losing paint chips down to bare metal so I had the entire car repainted and it looks great now. It didn't cost very much to have it done either.

I'm seriously toying with the idea of repainting my entire car. The front lip of the hood has paint flaking off down to bare metal. And there'* a few dings and scratches here and there...depends how much performance work I end up doing to it.
