GM has published several gasoline fuel injector cleaning bulletins that fully outline the methods to be used in conjunction with GM Part Numbered solutions to accomplish proper and safe cleaning of the fuel injectors with preventative maintenance suggestions to maintain optimum performance.
Our shop has a MotorVac unit for fuel systems. The GrandMarquis I'm driving as my 2nd car just had a similar cleaning done at the dealership... And with only 18k on the clock it idles much better now.

$100 sounds like that would be on the high end. I forget what our shop charges but I think it'* 60-70 bucks. It'* nice to have done but not one of the first things I would throw my money at.
