In 2000, the L36 got an updated UIM that increased it'* lifespan to around 100-150k miles. Basically, from what I've heard, it strengthened the EGR outlet, but it still melts. I don't think we've seen as many failures as the 95-99 L36 but I might be wrong...

The throttle bodies changed 2-3 times from 95-2000. The 95 S2 L67 uses a M62 while 96-2000 use an M90 (earlier version M90s use different vaccum routing.) Among all kinds of other things changes.

The S3 L32 (supercharged) got a new SC, TB(with drive by wire system), LIM, smaller fuel injectors (with returnless fuel system) & hot forged powdered coated connecting rods which are stronger then L67 rods.

They changed the tb plate from brass to aluminum on L36 in 98 I think... I could be wrong
also, L36 tb'* after 1996 do not have the secondary vacc port because the tranny'* after 96 are not vacc controlled the are electric.
