This morning I stopped at a salvage yard I get to about 3 times a year.
Sitting a sad state in the front row in the section of cars waiting to be inventoried was a champagne 1997 Bonneville SSEi, that looked identical to Sonoma_ZR2'*, at a glance, other than being smashed in the front and the rear bumper being gone. So I walked over to the car and started peaking at the interior, noticing the "SSEi" floor mat'* were no longer in the car, but the 5-button Ride/TC/Shift pod in the console was still there, and the tan AL7 seats are in outstanding shape with only light wear on the drivers bolster.
Then I grabbed the keys from the ignition so I could pop the trunk to locate the Accessory bag and as I was walking around the car was when I realized there were winged emblems on the C-pillars.
I made quick work with my fingers and got them off without any damage to the car or the emblems. Popped the trunk to find the trunk carpet, Accessory kit and spare tire cover were gone.
I ended up getting the emblems, a 1996 L67 air intake tube (to replace ripped tube in brothers 97 SSEi), the 5 button pod from the 40TH, and a pair of blue "ULTRA" stitched Park Avenue Ultra front floor mats for my mom'* 1993 Park Avenue, all for a great deal.
Sadly, this is the 3rd 40th SSEi I've found in a central MN salvage yard in the past few months. Altogether I know of 6 40TH Anniversary Edition SSEi'* within 60 miles of me. Seems most 40TH Bonneville'* ended up here in the upper midwest. I also know of at least 10 SE and SSE'* with the 40TH package within 50 miles.

A (champagne) 40th SE finds itself visiting a house down the street from me every once in a while, and aside from a missing foglight, that thing is still quite solid.
theres a 40th up the street thats driven by an older lady, its in MINT condition too. hope it dosent end up in a junkyard :(
on another note, did you see any 88-91 sse'* at the yard?
