Default Angel eye knock offs?!

I saw 5 boxes of Angel Eye Style of fog lights at Walmart on the clerance rack for $35! Has anyone saw them, or know if they are any good? I thought I would get a pair and see if they are any good! For $35 if they last a month I guess they did the job! lol There are three different color options also or they can change by their self. Think I should get em? I think they are like a 2fast2ferious brand or something.

For 35 bucks, if they are made of glass, you could always upgrade the bulb. Worth a shot...

Yeah, "CyberWhite" or something like that, with your choice of red, blue or green color caps on halo bulbs, right? I snagged a pair after the price fell to $15 at our Wal-Mart, but haven't done anything about installing them.

The halo lighting on these is done with tiny incandescent bulbs, not LEDs. I think I'll swap those out in favor of some actual white/clear LEDs. Do 12-volt versions of clear LEDs exist yet, or would I have to mess around with resistors and such? Do the original Hella lamps use 12-volt LEDs or lower-voltage ones?

I don't know if they will change out or not! They are cheap enough that I wouldn't mess with em, ya know! I saw em today for $20 now!

No, no, the bulbs aren't actually installed in the lamps in the first place, from what I saw of peeking in the back of the box: The bulbs are packed separately in a little plastic bag, along with the three different colors of gel sleeve to put over them: red, blue or green. I guess you'd get something close to white by just not putting any gel cover at all on them, but I like the idea of having actual white LEDs in there. I figure if I have to do the final installation of the halo lamps myself, I could just as easily install white LEDs as those incandescent bulbs, as soon as I find some 12-volt white LEDs.

Anyhow, I'll look at them a little closer in a while; I gotta clean out the garage anyway.
