Default Alternator rebuild

Anybody ever rebuild their alternator? I've seen kits online and I was thinking of upgrading some of the guts to150 amps. It sounds like the bearings are going in mine and plus I like to see how things work(kill two birds with one stone)

The entire alternator would have to be upgraded. Not as simple as changing out the rectifier bridge. But the windings are different also. Would be much simpler to just swap out the whole thing.

Not mechanical related, moved to General.
