doing the bed is easier than messing with 25 gal of gas. and rusty tank straps. i used a couple of big ratchet straps and a chain fall attached to the rafters so i didnt have to work hard on my old pickup.
what brand was it, i think i put in a wells or something and i never had an issue.

A guy at work took a sawzall to the bed of his gmc to get to the fuel pump. That'* always an option.
And if they break that often, under warranty, you wont ever have to buy one again. Plus a nifty access panel.

Siphon the gas out. That'* what I did on my truck when I was working on the tank. Did you check for voltage at the pump plug? Then start tracing it back. Do you have a fuel cut out switch?

I havent checked anything yet...Im sick as a dog aint even worried about it atm..Will deal with it when i feel better
lol Thanks for the input i plan to do all preliminary checks i can think of before pulling the pump...Cause it just makes no sense as last time the pump its self died the truck would start then die start then die so i got some investigating to do...

Both pumps in my truck didn't work. I followed the voltage until it stopped. Ran in to a big problem because my truck is a 1990, but has a 1991 wiring harness, and that'* a bit different, enough to cause problems hunting down the problem. Turned out being a relay. But if you have a wiring diagram use that to build a plan of attack.
