It really does depend on the tires, and the road. There were a few streets that my '89 could roast its crappy tires on. The SSEi can squeal them to no end....everywhere.

I guess i thought i would be able to because when i had my 94 intrepid with a 3.3 liter. It was pretty easy to break the tires lose. But yeah i guess i wanted to see if my car was losing power or not but seems as though this is the norm. So that answers my question.

My 91 LeSabre, will break loose the tires. Not enough to roast them, but only to spin them momentairly. It will only do it during a cold start. Wanna spin them after you've been driving for a while, at a stop light? Nope, can't do it real well, unless its raining out.

Even then, theres no benefit of spinning our tires. you'll end up ruining the tranny, or something. Tires these days are not cheap either.

Ok, we've gone a bit off the deep end talking about who can break traction under what circumstances, and we haven't really discussed a Performance issue, so this topic is moving to General Chat.

I wish I didn't spin the tires everytime I tried to accelerate. Tires get expensive after the 2nd set in a year.
