To answer the original question on plug wires; you will not see a performance difference between a 40 ohm wire and a 1000 ohm wire.
A hot coil delivers less than 0.5 amps of current. At 0.5 amps a 1000 ohm wire will drop 500 volts. A weak coil will develop 20,000 volts so, worse case you will lose 500 of 20,000 or 2.5%. If you can tell the difference there is something else very wrong.
Although it is not an absolute, higher resistance wires suppress ignition noise better.

Not really on a Bonneville but I put an Accel tune up kit, from Summit, in my GMC Sonoma almost 60K miles ago. I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, and spark plugs about 30K miles ago. The Accel wires have performed without any problems all this time.
I would say the quality of the Accel plug wires is decent.

I just replaced my accel copper core wires with MSD Helicore wires. oNly the v8 set was available. but my acceleration is better although It may be missing a bit. I talked to a guy at MSD and he suggested a specific set/ coil packs, ign module and and coil wire interfaces For a total of about $850. I guess its a way off For my L27.

That MSD 'set' won't gain you much of anything. Use the 8224 MSD coil and any good-quality plug wire set.
This is another one of those situations where it'* best to ask us (who work with these cars every day) instead of a vendor out to make a buck. Find out what works and what doesn't.
