Default 99 olds 88 stops running-dead

after going about 40 miles with the a/c on, the car totally stops-no power as if you unhooked battery, cables tight, what can cause this?

When you say stops dead do you mean the engine shuts down? After you pull over and get it into park does it start up again?

Had the same issue, it was the positive power line - clean 'em good.

Watch they may have more than one connection in-line, not just at the battery.
