Default 98 SE compatible parts

My son just wrecked the 98 SE (3800) that I bought him last year (which was a great car by the way) and I am looking to buy another one. I'm just curious which years and models are compatible with the 98 SE. Does anyone know where or how I can find that out?
Thanks.

I guess it depends on what you mean by compatible.

The engine is the 3800 but there are different series based on years. I can tell you that after having to search around for parts I would highly recommend getting an SSEi over an SE. I found it gave more options for parts used and new.

Also how bad was the wreck? If the engine and trans are ok you can get a decent resell on them probably as the 3800 is used all over.

The wreck pretty much damaged both front fenders, both headlights, the hood and the cross brace that the radiator bolts to, but the engine is fine (even though it has 193k on it), it has never smoked or leaked. I have a freind ( a body man for years) telling me the front clip is going to cost more than the car is worth and if I like the car so much buy another one just like it.... so that'* what I would like to do.

Depending on how you need to do the front clip..it might be lower cost. But I can't argue with a body guy as they'd be the ones doing the work.

96-99 is identical in body. 98-99 is identical in body and drivetrain.

Do what you can to strip the car and part it out. People here are always looking for parts, seats, antenna, door switches, center council, air bags if still intact, etc. The engine and trans mission will also bring a nice price.

Don't mind me I was too tired reading this. 00+ was completely different in the body department.

body, not drivetrain. And it'* a more refined and better handling body.

Yeah, like bill said, those years are compatible. The engine has a wider range of compatibility.

Depending on how bad the front is, if you could get the radiator support fixed, and find the front end parts in the correct color, you might be able to fix it fairly cheap. before doing that, I would assess rust and other issues, since it does have 193k on it before making that choice. Probably would end up being cheaper finding another and using this for parts
