Default 98 3800 ser. 2 heater water inlet pipe

My wife called and said the Bonnie was overheating. I started refilling the radiator, and soon found a major leak. I found the part on the intake diagram on a post here. Part #31, 'heater water inlet pipe'. Autozone gave me a generic part that looks pretty close. Seems to me I'll need to pull the alternator, and the housing above the water pump, that the pipe connects to. Just a hard plastic 90 degree elbow. Figured I'd ask the experts if there'* anything unusual to look out for!
