i have a 1997 SE. does that mean it is 40th edition? if so, does that make it more rare? worth more money?

If your spare tire cover has the RPO code "Y40" on it. If not, your just have a normal SE for that year. I beleive the only thing special was a badge on the rear pillars and special floor mats.

go out and look on your spare tire cover..see the white label...look for the RPO Code Y40 if you have it you have a 40th anniversary edition....if not you dont have the 40th package...and there were a certain amount of cars that had the 40th package

And it'* also possible it'* an SLE. If it has H4U on the tire cover sticker, it'* an upgraded package. That'* what mine is. a 97 SE with SLE package, but no 40th.
