95 SE vs. 97 Camaro w/ 3.8
I have looked this up before (along time ago). The 0-60 on a v6 Camaro (RS model) is worse than that of an SSEi. Not sure about an SE or SSE because I was comparing to mine inparticular.
I just looked up some info on edmunds.com and they are RWD for a V6 RS Camaro.
Bottom line, I think you have a good chance. I've seen them take off and it wasn't that impresive at all.
I agree with you whole heartedly Allmachtige. It is a sad, sad day when the once powerful muscle car is diminshed down to a V6 all show and little go show car. Like you said also, not to slam the 3800, it'* a great engine, but it is just wrong to do that to a Camaro.

It would be close. I've got a 95 3.4 5speed camaro. yes, it'* even worse than the 3.8
poor camaro. but anyway, it will almost take my 98 SLE, it loses it around 65-80, but then starts pulling quiet hard for the little 3.4 around 85 again, but by that time my bonnie is too far ahead for my camaro to catch. but a 3.8 may be a different story, if my 3.4 almost has it.
Yeah, I raced a 1994 Camaro 3.4/5-spd with my old 1993 SSE and just barely beat it. I'd have guessed that with the Series II in both cars I'd have to say the Bonnie will still win. The 3.4 has 210 horse (if it'* the same as the early GTP'* and Z34'*), and my 1993 SSE had 170. The Series II has 205, so the Camaro lost 5, but the Bonneville gained 35. Easy guess for me based on my experience. When we raced we raced from 0-100 and when I hit 100 he was about 3/4 car length behind me. Not to mention your car is an SSE, so there is about 200 lbs less than my old SSE.
