yes Hans has a 88, but its basically the same car as yours, color wise and such
as mentioned 98s are in the same body as Park Avenues.

He also has the fake chrome grill and the "cornering lights". Probably optioned out to the extreme too.

They have a nicer ride and heavier. Not much different other than that.

My car had a sticker price of $2900, but I talked him down to $1200 ... I was looking at other L27 bonnies at the time and they were in the ~$2500+ range as well.

I got lucky though since he discontinued driving the car in 2002 since the dealership said the motor had a blown headgasket and tranny had a leak. Being 150 years old the guy said screw it and leased a new truck. Apparently he tried to sell the car in 2002 for 3 grand with the problems but had no luck. I see it in a driveway in a subdivision sitting under a tree..Looked like it has never been driven due to the sap and dust layers, look in the window see a sign, and call the number. Old dude he tells me the story and said he would take 1500 since it had lots of problems. I check it out and yes there was an oil leak but it was just the back valve cover . He tried to convince me it was not a "little problem" and said the tranny was bad. I look underneath and what do you know, high pressure tranny line is obviously shot.

1 $12.50 Hose
1 $25 Gasket Set
1 $30 Belt
1 $3 quart of ATF
3 $15 Oil Changes

11,000 Miles later and the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Just nitpick everything that is wrong that you can see. Then say "I'll give you $XXXX cash if you want to take it".

$2500 seems alright for that area, just did a little classifieds search...

No ******* way. This did NOT happen to me again. I told the guy I was coming down after work today, cash in hand, and after a car inspection to check for any problems(That I was paying for!) I said I'd buy it for the agreed price. I told him not to sell it out from under me. He agreed. What did he do? Well, apparently someone who had looked at it last week came by, whom he though wasn't still interested, and gave him the whole $2900. Crap.

So... still looking...

I will be the happiest man on the face of the earth when this **** is all over with. :?

Kyle - that sucks. Please put $20 in the hand of the person you want to buy a car from and have them give you a reciept. That deposit should keep them from legally selling it out from under you. And you can even have it written in the reciept that your purchase is contigent upon a mechanic'* report that you will pay for. Similar to a home inspection.

Either that or you need to find some way to get it looked at like the same day you find it. I'm just not sure if you, your mom, your mechanic or the BC can handle too much more of people selling cars out from under you.

I would, man, but I hate to waste the money if things go pear-shaped. Still, better than losing the car...

I will have to meditate further on this matter in the days to come...

This car here, in my mind, has the coolest looking interior of any car i've ever seen. The seats are the most comfortable GM ever made. The best part is its prolly supercharged. I looked at one a year ago and it was abused for $2900. For $2100 i'd buy it abused or not. That was the last year so its a collectors item.

Only 1 problem: Panama City. Delray was hard enough; what would it be like looking at a car on the other side of the state??? Not fun, especially if it'* beat up. I'd have to hurt them...
