92 ssei panel inatsll
OK I went on a drive today and opened my door it what felt like a 45mph gust. It pushed my door open like a sail catching a gust. The bottom panle on the driver door came loose and now I cant get it back on. When I look under the panel, which is still half connected I can see the white circles on the door but the "thing'* on the panel won't fasten. Mainly because I don't know how they fasten. In that lies the question. How do I get that damn thing back on? Thanks in advance.

You can get the factory fasteners, but it'* a pita. I'd recommend the 3M body and moulding tape. It'* gray, with a red release backing. Very good stuff, designed for this purpose. Most auto parts stores carry it.

OK, I was watching the news and the gust were almost 80mph where I was, not 45 as I said earlier. I know it almost knocked me off my feet. All the same, I want to clarify my question, is the tape my only option less a total replacment or is it just really hard to put mine back together? Are my clips still usable?

There'* a clip on the door skin, and a pocket that it snaps into on the door. If all pieces are intact (which I doubt), you can clean up the surfaces, and pop it back on.

Well I tried to get some of the tape you mentioned Will and they didn't have the primer or whatever the stuff is that you should put on the tape first. Anyway I could get it and had to settle for 3m glue for emblems and trim. It pretty much bites for this job. I got "a little" frustrated at this point knowing that a 350lb mechanic was about to try to get in this door, at which point the trim would be in worse shape than it already is, so I figure what the heck and line up the clips to the white cirle on the door and smaked the living *$%t out of it. It worked. I wouldn't exactlly recomend this to anyone as a how to, but when you have nothing to lose, give it a shot, literally. Thanks for the help all the same everyone.
