Default 8-Ball on Steroids

Welp, it happened today, 8-Ball got cammed. Started at 7 am this morning and by 5pm I was rolling home. Big Jeff did an awesome job on the install and we did the INTENSE stage 1x cam, INTENSE 1.6 adjustable roller rockers, INTENSE oil pressure kit, plugged the coolant holes in the SC, disconnected the balance shaft, added a rollmaster timing chain and new dampner, hot tanked half the parts of my engine an finally Scott put in my new INTENSE Stage 1 PCM.

2 words...

HOT DAMN!

The car pulls like I would never have dreamed. Rockers were nice, the cam is outstanding. Coupled with the stage 1 pcm, the whole driving experiance now is almost pants wetting. 1st gear torque steer is just unreal, i really have to get an LSD. Also going to need some new tires because im going burn these real fast.

Going to the track on saturday so ill have some new times. Dyno on July 10th so new numbers then as well. I have a ton of pictures of the install but I left the camera at INTENSE so i'll have to get it tomorrow and post them.

Oh man.....

Must be nice to have the car paid off and using that normal "monthly car payment" for "monthly car upgrade". hehe

Good stuff!

Hmm. Sounds like those times from IDDV will probably look like a Sunday Drive in the Park after your track time this weekend and once you hit the Dyno.
BTW, the 1.9'*? Available or not? I'm just starting my funds, but hope to have rocker $$$ in about 3-4 weeks.
Oh, and I guess I better be glad I only owe $3k on The Addiction. Hmm, to make up the balance between what Todd owes and what I owe -well I believe I could really get hog happy.
Can't wait to see what this weekend brings. BTW, do you do much strip down (trunk carpeting, spare, and anything else that is easily removed and re-installed) of 8-ball for the track?
Good luck Saturday. I'm calling 13.97 @ 98 to start the guessing.

I trapped almost 98 with a 14.4, im hoping for 13.9 at 100+. Traction will be my big issue. If I can get a good 60 foort I should have it. Rockers are sold to P-Dad, sorry. As for strip down, i take the spare out, clean out the car of all of Ethyn'* toys, move the passanger seat all the way forward, drop the fronts to about 25 psi and I will be doing the ELC trick to jack the back up this time.

Rockers ride on your pushrods and are what push your springs to open and close your valves. The rods ride on lifters which follow the lobe of the camshaft. Higher ratio rockers will hold the valves open longer for better exhaust or more intake while a more agressive camshaft can give more duration of the open close and can do it at differant intervals based on the cams grind. I had 1.9:1 ratio rockers (1.6 is stock) that gave me some better upper rpm horsepower but with the cam the lift was too much so I went down to 1.6 ratios but got adjustable ones so when i get a different cam (stage 2 or 3 for example) I can keep my pushrods and just change the lash adjustment on the rockers (otherwise you have to get different length pushrods). The 3rd gen 1.6 are also roller rockers which are less restrictive then the stock ones and allow the engine to rev faster and higher.

How about disconnecting the VSS'* up front? Or does it even help with the Intense Stage I PCM? Disconnecting them netted me 1/10 of a second and 1.1 MPH from the two prior runs (in the 1/8 ).
