Hi Folks,
I just joined your forums site but I've been looking forward to buying a 66 Bonneville convertible for at least the last fifteen years. I'm going to go look at one tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone can point out any areas that are typically problematic on cars of that year. The trunk is rotted and the car overall is kinda ratty but other than that I'm not quite sure what to expect tomorrow.
As far as "matching numbers" are concerned, what numbers are there to check and where would I find them? I could guess there'* a VIN number by the base of the windshield but will that number match the engine block ID number? Where would I find a frame number?
