Default 40th Spotted in Moab, UT...

...at the Moab Diner on Saturday. It wasn't supercharged or anything, but this baby was CLEAN. Not a mark on it. Grey leather was in perfect shape. Parked in a handicapped stall and probably owned by the mythical "little old lady". If the diner hadn't been so crowded and I'd had no place to be I'd have hunted her down and talked about it.

Being a crotchety old geezer, run-of-the-mill Bonnevilles don't normally demand too much of my attention, but this little trinket raised a flag:

This is one non-SSE/SSEi car I'd like to get my hands on.

I'm on the same page as you guys. I was like wow, I couldn't do it... lol

Good thing my car didn't hear what you said about the 'non-SSE, SSEi' thing. It probably would have gotten mad.

Nice find, though.

You'll notice there are only two pics of the car. That'* it. I'd have liked to have gone all over the car with my camera, but I didn't have the huevos. It was parked right in front of the door and all those windows are in the dining area. The owner HAD to see me shooting the 40th badge. I wasn't too concerned because a) my truck was running, right behind me, and pointed to the exit and b) the car was in the handicapped parking spot with a handicapped permit hanging from the mirror...I'm old, fat, slow, and out of shape (you should be thinking "Chief Wiggum" about now), but I figured my odds of escape were better than 50% if grandma came out swingin' her cane at me. Even with that, I seriously considered employing the 12x optical zoom on my camera instead of walking up to the badge.

Actually, I wish the owner had come out. I'd have like to found out how many miles are on it.

Sorry about the run-of-the-mill Bonneville jab! I was expecting a lot more flames over that comment. lol. I've always preferred the driving light arrangement on the SSE/SSEi because it reminds me of a '69 Camaro. Tell your car she'* still a fine, beautiful automobile...it'* just like...preferring redheads over blondes...

Hey Wiggins...

There'* usually a spry youngster bringing granny out to the restaurant. Be wary..they are faster than you think.

Indeed! One does not think of these things in the heated moment of a Bonneville-induced state of euphoria. In an effort to get a photo for the greater cause of the Bonneville Club, I was willing to take one for the team.

...That'* just the kinda guy I am. Yep.
