My SSEi has not been started since I left Anchorage in May. When I get back, hopefully the end of this month, it will be 4 months since she has ran.

Should I pull the plugs and drop some oil/gas mixture down each cylinder, or just straight oil before I try and start it up? Or not worry about it?

Any thoughts?

If anything, pull the ICM plug, and crank it 5-8 seconds at a time, about 2 or 3 times, to build some oil pressure up., then reconnect the ICM and fire it up.

I would vote just to start it straight up. Just let it idle for a couple minutes to let the oil do its thing, nothing bad will happen. It'll be fine. And happy that its back in service!

Yes, I also don't think you should have any trouble with just starting it right up.

You should have put some oil in the cylinders before you left, if you were worried about a little cylinder wall to ring pitting corrosion.

I was not worried about pitting when I left; I never thought of it I don't want have an extended period of "dry start" and eat the rings and pistons

I forgot to metion, she will be getting one heck of a warm up. Once I start her up when I get home, she'* gonna run for about 6 hours straight. I have a few months of catching up to do

If you had put oil in the cylinders..all it would have done is sit at the lowest point. Remove the ICM connector, crank it a little like suggested (that will get the oil flowing again). Start it up and expect a bit of noise from the lifters, if they lost oil..they'll be noisey for a couple minutes.

Let it run and get all systems up to temp before heading out on the road. Also pump the brakes repeatedly to ensure no problems with them.

I'll pull the ICM pulg and crank the motor like suggested. I will not move the car until the front fans kick on and the trans lines are good and hot. I have 185K on that trans I do not not want to smoke it, just the tires

That is the same procedure I use when starting a motor that has been sitting for any amount of time.

Just start it up and let it warm up real well before driving it. The only thing I do to our Firehawk before parking it for the 8 month winter hibernation is disconnect the battery. Then, in the spring I just reconnect the battery and start it up. I change the oil immediately after bringing it home from storage.
