No actually its not the 4.3L with 80'* brain child of technology... Actually the highest 4.3L hp rating was 190 but the torque band is so wide it feels like tons more tq. is 260! For an N/A OHV V6 that is serious! The 3800 was late 70'* brain child but much easier to upgrade since the orginal motor could have had a 2bbl. carb and then turbo'* came GN'* Regals and T/A'*! And then FI and the 3800'* just kept getting more powerful! Lowest rated 3800 was with a 2bbl. Rochester Carb and was rated a just 105hp! Thats right 100 less than the current highest rating in the Bonneville LeSarbe and Park Ave!
Just some fun facts for you guys!

Just some fun facts for you guys! The 4.3 NA topped out at 200HP... For a couple of years there was a Vortec CPI 4.3 HO... They only made it a couple of years and then went to the 190 Hp CPI 4300, really the same engine...
How many of us remember the Cyclone and the Typhoon with the 4.3 turbo
And our beloved 3.8 sure does have a great history
