Shifting is based off othe Vehicle Speed, not the RPMS. If you changed your tires enough, you could bounce off the RPM limiter and not shift.

Maybe check your VSS, or try another PCM?

Your problem isn't the shift itself, or the quality of the shift, but when it occurs. It'* electronically controlled, so i'd look at what can hold that up.

would the PCM in nates junker work... 94 ssei i think...

im gonna run up to gordys sometime within the next week...hopefully a GOOD scan can help out...

You may need a new trans.... But, if you can grab Nates PCM complete with the stock EPROM the programming for the 94-95 SSEi should be the same, both have identical PCM'* and should have the identical programming as well.. Do a good scan with your PCM in there and then try the other PCM and see what you come up with... My PCM had to be replaced do to a funky 1-2 shift, and at time it would shift from 1-2-1-2-1-2 then bang 3rd gear... PCM cured that problem... It was strange

As far as i could tel riding in it, the tranny itself was shifting fine. But it wasn't being told to shift. The shift wasn't sluggish or anything, it was perfect, just about 1.5 seconds late.

Welcome to the fragged tranny club, just be lucky you dont have to pay dealer prices for a new trans, my tranny was like 2400 installed!!! But it has a 36/36 warranty and they will fix it even if its do to too much power !!!!
