Glue as the cluprit? Sounds right. And come to think of it.....that smell was kind of similar to urine only with a touch of onion added in the mix. And to think I actually tasted it on my lips, UCH!! Yes indeed, that car should go back.

Wow, that sucks, but I have to say, "causing it to smell like a deli" made me laugh.

But that'* the kind of situation where I'd be taking that car back immediately and demanding a fix/replacement. Especially since THATSHOWIROLL says he felt sick afterward -- whatever it is, it can't be healthy!

I don't know if you got a chance to read my earlier reply to you about this problem, but the short of it is that yours is NOT the only car out there with this smell and Buick does know about it. Something in the glue of the headliner is the cause. I'm wondering whether you ever took the car back or if the dealer was able to resolve it to your satisfaction?

I checked back with yet another dealershiip to see if they fixed the problem---still not fixed. They tried to tell me it was corrected and directed me to a Regal that was on display in their showroom (in their building with A/C). I went inside the car and I smelled it a little bit but not horrible. I asked to see one of their cars that was outside sitting in the heat on their lot so that I could see if the smell was there. The salesguy brought me to one...I opened the door...and WHAMO SMELLO!!!! And again I got sick from it (not nauseous sick...but kind of dizzy sick) It'* obviously toxic.

My New 2012 Buick Lacrosse expels a foul-smell that impregnates the cloth and all other items that are placed inside. This disgusting smell of the vehicle has caused discomfort and complaints from friends and family that refuse to ride on it and fear that the smell can affect the health. The dealer claims that they don’t know from where it is coming and I should leave the car in the Sun with the windows down but this has done absolutely nothing to improve it.

Have you checked the cabin air filter to see if there'* something dead (seriously) in there? You can also put in a new filter and put a few drops of 'nilodor' on it to freshen up the vents.

I've heard of some plastic resins that will give off gasses similar to urine smell. We ran into that with one of our trains. None of the motormen would drive it after a while because of that stench. Turned out it was a manufacturing flaw in the resin mix. Only that was about a 125,000.00 part.

Good luck. If that doesn't solve the problem, take the car back and INSIST on a replacement.

I work at a dealer and haven't heard of any complaints on those cars, mind you we haven't sold a whole lot of them. Like stated above get the cabin filter checked and make sure something didn't crawl in there and die, have seen that many times.
