Default 2003 vs. 2004 front bumper

Does any one know if the 04 gxp front clip would have the same mounting brackets and dementions to replace the 03 SSEi? I (finally) got rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me, and my buddy owns the shop. He can make the accidental order of the 04 happen, but it has to fit right the first time? Does any one have any experience trying to do this, or have successfully? It looks like the dimensions are the same, headlights, hood and fenders.

Whaddya think?

Other than being part of an illegal operation with your buddy (insurance fraud?), it should work just fine. However, IMO the SSEi has a much better looking front end with the inset grill and center mounted fog lights. It will be one weird looking SSEi, and you might have problems if you ever decide to sell it.

Both bumpers share the same impact bar part number, but they each have their own absorber number.

in addition to the front styrofoam absorber, you would also need different foglight housings and a entire different foglight wiring harness.

also the side door mouldings match the smoothness of the GXP front and rear bumpers

I hear you on both points, but from what I gather, if I were to do this on my own (i feel guilty now.... ) and go to a junk yard and get the 04 clip, what else would I need to get a good fit?

And the lights are the same dimension? In other words if you found an 04 headlight, it would fit in an 03 and vice-versa, ect?

And IMO, I could see the preference for some, I just happen to think that it looks a bit like the weird Firechicken Pontiac put out before the last restyle. I love the sleeper quality in the Bonnie, and IMO the 04 is a bit more conservative in it'* looks. And as far as re-selling, HOW COULD YOU SAY SUCH A THING?? :P i LOVE HER TOO MUCH! IMO, I doubt anyone would be too upset about the clip swap, as long as you were honest. If I were to ever sell it, I would do it on this forum, cause she will only go to a home of someone who would appreciate it. When I bought her, i found crayons and cherios under the back seat, so I am pretty sure she was not ridden as hard as the woman who drove it!! :P And with only 63k on the block, and seeing some of the brothers ans sisters here, it looks like she is just hitting puberty.

Now if only the a$$hol3 who hit me had insurance....... Irving! Be glad i am not that crazy!!!!!

Thanks for the info!

the dimensions are exact. the headlights are swappable, although the GXP ones are different because they are tinted unlike the others.

if you can get a clip at a yard, get EVERYTHING you can.
