I'm looking at an '01 Bonneville with 95,000 miles on it for about $6500. It pretty much has all the options and it is a one owner. I have a '97 GPGT with 323,000 miles on it so I'm pretty familiar with the 3.8 engine. Are there any known problems with the '01'*? Supposedly the intake gaskets were remedied by 2001 but who really knows? Mainly looking for common problems with the '01'*.

Did you read the sticky of common problems listed at the top of this forum section? The intake gasket issues continued well past '01.

You're a so we cut you some slack. If you were an experienced member, we would have "the boys" flog you.

That will give you thinks to check. Few, if any have all of the problems, and some "common" problems are not as common as others.

Sounds like a reasonable deal. As reference, 1 year ago I paid $13,000 for an 01 with 60k miles in excellent shape. No sunroof or heated seats. Look at the sticky, and look at the dealership for the vin # and reference what work has been done on it by GM.

Lots of little things on mine, but nuthin' you can't handle.

Are you looking at an SE, SLE or SSEi? I bought my loaded 01 SSEi two weeks ago with 66k miles for about $8k. They were asking $10k for it.
