Default 2000+ Bonneville is BIG

People usually think that my Aurora is a bigger car than the Bonneville is, but the opposite is actually the truth. It'* the shape of the Aurora that makes it look bigger, but the Bonneville is actually slightly larger than the Aurora is!

In this picture in a front shot, the Aurora does look slightly larger than the Bonneville

but.....

in this view you can see that the Bonneville is actually 3-4 inches longer. The Bonn is has its rear tire against a cement parking barrier while the Aurora is even an inch from the barrier for comparision.

So is it safe to say that the H body may just be a longer version of the G body that Oldsmobile/Buick uses?

I wonder how long the 95-99 Aurora is compared to the 2000+ Bonnevilles. Maybe a bit longer :?

The 1995-1999 Aurora is 205.4 inches long.
The 2001-2003 Aurora is 199.1 inches long.
the 2000+ Bonneville is 203 inches.

I totally agree, and I like that fact too. They seem a lot more solid and ride so much nicer (nicer than mine anyway).

IRC, the 00+Bonnieand Aurora actually share the platform.
The G- body came out with the Riviera and Aurora, then in 97 the Park Ave got a bigger version of the G, and it was lumped in with the older C-body designation.
When the LeSabre, Bonnie and Aurora received their redesigns, the all went to a G-body based platform. The LeSabre and Bonnie continued to be called H-bodies, and the Aurora stayed the G-body. But, under the skin they are basically the same car, except that the Aurora got the V8.

I found my SSEi (when I had it) to be far larger inside then the Aurora. There is far less headroom in the Aurora then the 92-95 Bonneville. 00+, I dunno...I've not been in one for long enough to compare.

When we had the SSEi, Angie called it our little car.
