Default 1998 Bonneville SSE -VS- 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 Komp.

Ok, folks...It'* official...I AM THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm $450 richer. The Kompressor was no match for my Beast. We didn't measure 0-60'* or 1/8'*, just overall 1/4 mile time. Here'* the numbers for you guys:

Her: 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 Komp. (1/4 mile) 15.2 @95.7 MPH

Me: 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SSE NA (1/4 mil) 14.65 @97.3 MPH

I am seriously impressed with the level of performance that I have taken the monster to with the few mods I've done. I do not have SC, which is even more impressive. The over-sized throttle body seems to have done the trick for the intake and removing the headlight does wonders for the CAI. She didn't want me to do that, but the rules didn't say I couldn't! Here'* a list of the mods:

Hi-perf titanium-aluminum alloy pushrods
Random Tech 9100 Hi-Flow Cat - stock muffler - no resonator on my car
Wrapped stock exhaust manifolds - switching to ported manifolds with my winnings!!
Ported and Polished heads--5% oversized intake and 3% oversized exhaust valves - I know I'm losing here without the ported manifolds, but not much longer!
Open Flow 9" K&N cone with short 3" into TB
No spare or jack (weight)...Riding on Goodyear Eagle Runflats
Custom upper plenum insert - replaced plastic insert with aluminum unit...flow increased by 150 CFM
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator - up 5% from stock at race time

Of course, I have never revealed my trade secrets to anyone at work. They think it'* just a big family car that LOOKS like it could be fast. My goal is mid-13'* before I start working on an L67 to drop in to the Beast. I'd like to think that the GP'* in my area were crying before I went after the top 10 at ClubGP.

I'm hungry! Get me more Schnitzel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No undies, this time. If she wants a rematch though, it'll have to be "Strip Racing" - loser drives away nekked!

Very impressive for a NA!

When I'm feeling better and can start seriously thinking about mods again I think that I'll have to take the 2 hour drive to the Fredericksburg area to get some ideas from you for my 02 SE . It'* also NA.

That would be great! Just let me know when you'll be coming up. It has to be on the weekend; I work 1.5 hours away.

Mommy surprized meself, shocked the poor kid time it was over 2/12 car lengths ahead My Baby is started to come of age Still more mods coming ummm new roller rockers arrived today , so tomorrow i be workin` on Baby.

Turtle, just saw your sig for the first time. You better seriously think about the 180 stat and extra tranny cooler.......like our beloved Rat, you're EGR-less......save your other mods by keeping that sucker cool.....especially if you have the same genetic fault I have. LEAD FOOT.
