Hi guys i am new to your forum and need help. My 1995 Riviera was running great no lights no problems untill 2 days ago. she was hard to start going to work but finally started and ran fine 30 miles to work. When i left for the day she would not start. Has spark at coils, cranks, sprayed starting fluid in intake made no differance. It cranks and sometimes backfires out intake, It sounds like its firing at the wrong times. It is a supercharged 3.8 with about 150000 miles normally runs great. Car is all original condition
Please help the car is stuck in parking lot.

The first thing I would check is fuel pressure. Spark would rule out the crank sensor, also a common problem. You may have fouled the plugs trying to start it so maybe change the front 3 to see if it will start. If the pump is original, that may be the culprit. Luckily, on the Riv we have an access panel in the right front corner of the trunk.

Thanks for responding. I will check fuel pressure. But i have already sprayed some starting fluid in the intake with the same results. Also sometimes when i crank it over it will backfire out the intake. Do any of these clues help. i will be towing the car home today.Then i can check things out better.

you may want to check the cond of your plug wires and coils.as well as the wiring going into the icm
