Default My wife and I had a hand in this

My wife and I used to work for Siemens VDO Automotive in Lima, Ohio and I realized that we helped make this part and the top also. Did not realize it until I took it off the car and it looked real familiar.

From this picture I can tell you that the number 3409-a means that it was made on the 340th day of 99 by shift A (1). The white dot is from the paintpen of the packing person verifying all the clips and j-nuts were on it and a filter was present.

I just thought it was cool and tyhought I would share this worthless info.

used to do plastic injection molding til they closed the place and put the work from our plant into the 2 plants they had in Canada. It was actually Siemens Automotive and they merged with VDO and became Siemens VDO Automotive. Then there was the consolidation.

That'* kinda neat, IMO. I know the feeling to recognize something you've had a hand in.

I see parts from my old company every time I see a GM car underhood. A/C lines, oil cooler lines, heater hoses and assys., Trans, oil cooler lines, brake lines, fuel lines, etc... 80% of them are from the place I worked for 13 years.
