140mi and alredy a SES light
Last saterday the 3rd gear dropped out on my bonneville on the way home form work the estamite to fix it was $1500-2000 and with a bent sub fraim and no AC it was not worth the fix.
I now have bought my parents 2000 GP GT with 63k mi on it was an extra car until my sister started driving
Since I got the GP i have put 140mi on it Filled it when i got it. Now the SES light came on when i was leaving school earler today it seems like every thing is running fine and the gas cap is on. The next day i have off from my jobs and school is 12 days away and that day is booked after that my next day off is in 14 days.
Is there any thing is can do or check for fixing it my self?
The oil was changed arround 1k mi ago I did change gas they were useing the mid grade and i put in 2/3 a tank of cheap gas but that was 140mi ago
Thanks for the help and sorry that I had to say good bye to my bonnie but i have kept a 3800 im my family.

I checked the cap first I think it might not be used to the gas but I just disconnected the negative for 30 min and reconnected it then drove for 10 min the SES light was off and has not came back on so I will see if it turns its self back on tomorrow
