hey guys. today i was riding around in about 5-10 degree temps with a good headwind. i noticed the car really wasnt blowing alot of air (automatic setting) so i jacked up the fan manually, and it was relatively cool. i dont wanna be the guy that complains when his house only gets down to 70 when its 110 outside, but is this normal behavior? maybe im just being picky but the car will usually kick on the heater at full speed after about 10-15 mins of idle when started cold. you can actually watch the cars temp gauge drop from over 1/4 down to the first or second hash mark after you have left a drive thru or something of the sort.

im thinking maybe the t-stat. any help/input is appreciated!

Your thermostat is stuck open.

No, because you didn't drain from the engine or the bottom of the radiator.

It is MUCH easier if you shell out the extra few dollars for the self-venting t-stat. Just install, pour 50/50 into radiator and it works the air out all by itself. Best damn invention to the 3800 since sliced bread IMO.

haha. you guys wouldn't happen to know of any store bought block heaters with a good reputation would you? the gf'* civic has a tiny engine and takes about 30 mins to fully warm up at idle. (suspected t-stat but its also dont cool down once its warmed up so who knows)
