I'd go with the SSEi. One thing though...how does the paint look on it? I'm really picky about black cars. I find that a lot of owners don't know how to care for black paint.

Carlos...the black looks ok but to me the Silver SLE looks cleaner...Honestly if the SSEi was the silver car it would be a done deal...Black is nice but there'* currently like 6 Black SSEi cars available in a 15 mile radius of Sioux Falls...that'* what is also leaning me towards the Silver one. And to be honest the Wife would rather have the silver one too...It ultimately comes down to the final negotiations.

Thanks for all your input...

There it is! People are putting down SE and SLEs. Doughie, just get the SLE, I have a 99 SE and I don't REGRET it one bit, all you have to do is add a CAI and a high flow cat and it'* all good. Ignore the SSEi snobs, they whine frequently, sometimes more than their spouses on a shopping spree and they have no more money left. Join us and stop the NA Opperession.

Fuel.

It really depends on your driving style. The SSEi is better if you like the extra power when needed and it'* a more reliable powertrain. The SLE is quicker around town EXCEPT for if the SSEi hits boost. Once the SSEi sees boost levels it is significantly faster. WIthout hitting boost the SLE is slightly more peppy from stops. (because of gear ratios mostly.) The SSEi we have averages around 23.1 MPG average and our SLE averages 25.4 average. (haven't reset the gas mileage readings in about a year or so.)

We own both a 00 SLE and 00 SSEi by the way.. I've driven both side by side to come to these conclusions. Myself, I think the slightly less gas mileage is worth the extra horsepower when you tip into the throttle a little bit. My only complaint is that the SSEi really is a slouch until you hit boost.

May seem obvious, but I say get out a drive them if you can. I think you will be surprised at how fast an NA 3800 is...I was. If it satisfies your driving needs, buy it, and make sure you _DON'T_ test drive that SSEi

Yeah...I've driven both but the only problem is that my wife hasn't but she said that she doesn't need the "boost" and I'm like sure you do...she said no and she doesn't want to pay for premium fuel every time she goes to the pump...so unfortunately for everyone that posted in favor of the SSEi...it appears that we're getting the SLE.

I can always get my fix with my 675 hp 1500lb monster every weekend in the summer.

I'm not all that disappointed with the SLE because I was able to negotiate some more money off and the dealer with the SSEi would not deal so in the long run I think we got a nicer car for a good price. We pick it up next Tuesday...(I have some traveling to do for Christmas so I figured that I should put the miles on the Ho instead of the Bonnie) Dealer will have to deal with approx 600 more miles on the truck when they get it. :o

Thanks again for all your input and I'll post some pics when we get it and I get some mods done to it...already looking to do the clear corner lights, high flow cat, Thrasher CAI, remote start & Tint all windows to approx 15%.

I can't wait...Bryan
