Default 03 LeSabre Part Help...Refurbishing Vehicle

2003 Buick LeSabre Custom
VIN 1G4HP52K83U136010

This is the Sway Bar Frame Bushing. I can not find this anywhere and generics will not work properly because they are flat on the bottom whereas this one is not. In fact the bottom is keyed to fit in a recess in the frame. The bushing is 28mm and originally made in Canada. I wanted a poly bushing but a this point the priginal is fine as long as it is new. I am replacing because it is well out of specs, worn, and drying out do to salt effects. MOOG has one but it is not shaped correctly to fit in my bracket and of course they don't offer a bracket. Here are the pixs:

I found this. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0 Can't tell from the drawing they have. But perhaps you can contact them and find out.

I wonder if these would work for you? They are 28mm universal greasable bushings.

Sorry about the double image, it was copied weird.

Unfortunately no...those generics will not operate properly because they are flat on the bottom. Original is "keyed" to fit into the recessed area of the frame. If I put on of these on it (with the flat bottom) then the bottom of the bushing will have NO surface to resist against...IOW as the sway bar pushes against the frame the bushing will give way at the bottom as it flexes and fills the recessed area of the frame. I need this SHAPE and haven't been successful yet. Maybe I should be looking in Canada since the part was manufactured there?

Here is the mounting point on the frame for clarification:

Have you tried contacting a local dealer? Some of these parts are dealer only, and this may be one of those.

I was trying to avoid trouble with the dealer since I am sure they will have to special order and I really can't afford to wait for a reorder...SO, I thought I would check on the forums hoping some obscure company actually made one.

On another note...Are those actual pixs of your engine? Is that a 3800 Series II engine?

Very Nice. If I may ask, from where do you purchase your engine custom parts...I have not been very successful at this point in finding customization and performance parts for the 3.8L Series II. I would even entertain the option of purchasing one already built-up...but I can't find yet. In fact I have yet to find anything other than a bra for a 2003 LeSabre!

You can go to Intense racing and ZZ performance to find a lot of mods for the engine.
