01' Grand Am Gt Vs' 95' Bonneville SSE
Alright this race happen tonight 8/06/03. it was me and my 14 year old brother in my bonnie against my friend kyle and my other friend tom in the Gt. So we head out on to hwy 70 heading to st louis but we merged on to 70 out in ofallon which if you keep taken will take you thru st peters than st charles than to st louis. but thats besides the point. so we are on 70 doing 55 next to each other i look over at my friend kyle and tom. tom was in the passager seat in the Gt holding up 3 fingers for the count down. so i signal tom that i am ready. he starts counting down 3 fingers.....2 fingers.....last finger dropped and i punched the gas car drops from fourth to second revs up and grabs and we where off i look over and i am barely head by like 7in than kyle starts pulling away in the Gt once i hit 3rd gear once i got to the end of his passager door my RPMS are at 3500 and the torq kick in and i started gaining back on him and i look over at tom and he sees me gaining back up and he starts laughing he said something i didnt here him but i found out he said "oh **** he is catchin back up" so i start pulling back up and we are neck and neck now and i looked in my heads up display that goes into my windsheild says we where doing 90 i start pulling away and the front of his Gt was at the front my wheel base and i hit 4th gear and he started pulling away and i lost by half a car length. and at the end of the race i was doing 105 and kyle was doing 110. but it was a good race. oh yeah and my brother didnt really do anythign but watch in the passanger seat i really dont look at him. thanxs for reading my story tell me what you think.
Thanx

um
You were probably cruising in 4th OD when you floored it it probaby shifted to 3 D... unless your nearing the end of your speed lmiter you should probably keep the tranny in Drive(when your racing) because just that much of a through from 4OD to 3rd can do a number on it.
