Default Treasurer

After many PM'* and emails bouncing all over me, and with the support of the Admin/Moderator staff, I would like to announce the appointment of a Treasurer for our 'group buy' endeavors (with an appropriate disclaimer).

Mark Wimmer (complinitor) has graciously and enthusiastically accepted this burden. This was NOT an easy choice to make, perhaps even more difficult than any Moderator appointments to this date. Many thanks to those that nominated others or themselves. In the end, Mark was chosen for his experience and knowledge in this type of situation. He is well versed in paypal, finance, and going really fast. This whole idea very nearly died out, but Mark took the ball (behind the scenes) and made it happen. There were 4 others that I would have been very comfortable with, and the rest of the staff as well, but in the end, Mark came through for the whole club.

Now the disclaimer:

The rank of Treasurer is in no way officially sanctioned or endorsed by the Bonneville Club or Jeff Keacher. Neither will be held liable for any purpose with regards to the monetary dealings of said Treasurer or by the members that participate in any way. Mark Wimmer, myself (Bill Wren), and the members that choose to deal with the Treasurer in a monetary fashion are solely responsible for their own actions, and will not hold The Bonneville Club or Jeff Keacher liable in any way.

Basically, Jeff likes to keep it simple and LEGALLY sound. Any time money is involved, it opens the door to problems. I personally don't anticipate any problems, and this is really the only way to 'open the door' for group purchases like stickers, key fobs, plate frames, etc. Mark has willingly shouldered the responsibility and burden of this position for the good of the Club, and I thank and respect him (and all the others who showed interest) for it.

Best of luck to Mark. At this point, I'll leave it up to him to set things up and get things rolling. He'll be adding a paypal link to our account to his signature, and posting information on how the whole process will work. We leave it to him to set this up and make it work. Watch for upcoming info!

More new and exciting stuff coming up soon! Keep an eye out for an announcement by Complinitor. The door is now also open even wider for the sticker option, so it might be a good time to start finalizing the designs and make a decision.
