Default The term Bonnifest...

The term Bonnifest is kinda thrown around a lot IMHO. Originally kyle modeled it after Berreta fest, the idea being it was the one large meet every year, not the once a month variety.

Should we try to reserve it for the big one? Or come up with a new term for the "national" one?

thanks Jason I was actually ready to post this yesterday but didnt....

Im tired of seening all the threads XXBF....its not a fest if you have 5 cars there.....

its OK to call the NATIONAL meet Bonnefest, and the respective meets that have a large showing IE NEBF, or SEBF and WCBF, because thoes are a yearly thing, some of the meets (not picking on anyone) LIBF, OHBF, and so on are not Fests....PERIOD. they are a Meet of a few members

this is JMO, but i have discused this with a few other members and they feel the same as i do

i really dont think its that big of a deal... a meet is a meet no matter what. however, if you want to get technical... my definition of a BF is a multi-day event, where people are willing to drive 5+ hrs.. and not a small "mini-meet" which is generally an afternoon event

I'm with Toast on this one, however my personal qualification for a Fest would be more multiday than anything else.

I don't think it'* vital that we start policing what is technically called a "BonnieFest". The first year of WCBF we had 5 cars, and one of those cars wasn't even a member. For 2006 we had 15 cars. All meets have to start somewhere

I absolutely agree. It is a name that is carried on and should be used even if there are only 3 cars. I don't see it as a big deal to change it if there aren't more than a "X" amount of cars.

I never gave it any thought, but then I'm not the historian type...more like the let'* get together whenever we can type.

Along these lines, though: The first SEBF in January was more like a mini-meet, by result rather than by intention, with 4 cars (1 of which was a GP). We did have two out-of-state members that made it.

As it looks right now, the second SEBF may have as many as 8-10 cars, so maybe we're getting there, huh?

as DJ said, you have to start somewhere. As you gather attention of more people and schedule different events, more people will come.

I agree with Boosty, but I suggest the EASIEST classification ever.

It'* a Bonnefest if more than one person get drunk because it adds the 'fest' to Bonnefest.

It'* a mini-meet if only one person get drunk then he'* making an *** out of himself.

Agreed?
