Default Spelling, punctuation, and proper grammar:

Spelling, punctuation, and proper grammar are items to consider when posting on this Forum, especially if you have mechanical issues and your posts are hard to read. Many members here, including our Gearheads, get frustrated trying to read some posts that are typed quickly with very little regard to these important items.

If you are directed to this topic, don't take it as an insult, and don't reply back with insults of your own. We're giving this advice to help you, and we fully understand that in the world of instant messaging and texting on phones, many 'inflections' are expected. Here on this Forum, things are different. If we're trying to help you, please start by helping to make yourself be better understood.

If you pay attention to these 6 items, you will get more timely and accurate responses to your posts:

1. Use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence. Don't ever type in ALL CAPS. This is the same as yelling on the internet.

2. Use correct spelling to the best of your ability. If you know spelling isn't your best subject, consider a spell-checker before posting.

3. Use proper grammar. Run-on sentences are very hard to follow.

4. Get to the point quickly in your topic. Covering unimportant details in a long post can cause impatience in the people that read your posts.

5. Use punctuation. Put 2 spaces after a period.

6. Sentence and paragraph structure may be the most important. Consider listing your symptoms in one paragraph, then asking your specific questions in the next paragraph, rather than having it all run together.

These 6 rules apply to virtually every written language on the planet, and are an important communication tool.

Time to bump this. It'* getting pretty bad down there. Please have the common courtesy and respect for our readers to spend the time to type in some other manner than you would in a text message.
