Is there a way to not include Lounge threads in 'View New Posts'?

I usually look through the new posts to see what'* going on, once in a while I'll pop into the Lounge, but generally I'm interested in looking at car things because this is, after all, a car club. I hate seeing rows and rows of Lounge crap mixed in with the rest, in fact most often I just leave.

I don't think you can choose what posts are and are not included in view new posts.


I normally just look at the icons beside each category, as in general, 87-91, etc... and go to the sections that I want that have new posts, then look at the page to see what are the new posts and decide from there which ones to read.

Then again I open new windows for each section when I am looking so I end up with a few windows open, lol.

An interesting idea. I'll look into it.

with firefox, i generally just go down the side and center click each topic to open a new tab, then i do the same for all the new threads that interest me, i usually have 10-20 tabs open by the time i start reading

I use Firefox too and have multiple tabs going in multiple windows. But what I like to do is scan through the new posts since my last visit. Even though I visit almost daily there are still over 100 posts, sometimes many more, to browse.

I don't necessarily want to chose a category first and then browe only on that subject to see a thread of interest. I'd rather be able to browse all categories for threads of interest.

Not that I have anything against the Lounge, only that I'd like to be able to go there if I choose but not have it comingled with the car stuff.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything readily available to implement the requested change. For now, the best answer I can give is what others have already suggested: use the forum names on the left side of the "new posts" list to ignore forums that do not interest you.
