Default No more email for AOL users

Effective immediately, no email from this forum will be sent to AOL email accounts. This includes registration confirmations, topic reply notifications, and private message notifications.

Why? There are two possibilities: Somebody signed up for one of the forum notification services and then reported the resulting email to AOL as spam. Alternately, too many AOL-addressed people signed up for topic reply notifications and AOL didn't like the "excessive" email traffic.

Regardless of the cause, AOL is blocking email traffic from the BonnevilleClub server. The process to reverse the ban, while not overly obtuse, is frustrating, and from reports elsewhere on the web, the problem generally recurs within a few weeks anyway.

This server handles mail for a variety of sites, and I will not sacrifice all AOL-bound email that passes though this server for the sake of forum-related notifications to a small subset of users.

Non-AOL-addressed mail will not be affected.

This change will be permanent.

Sorry,
Jeff
