I don't know if this was brought up or not, but when a post gets moved, is there a way to get rid of the "remains" after a bit? I know it needs to be in the original section for a few days so people can find their posts, but can we completely move it after a week or so? I don't know why, but it kinda bugs me....

The remains are called 'shadow topics'. As a rule, if a new member posts in the incorrect forum, or the topic becomes clear enough to re-categorize it, we leave a shadow topic.

For the 'veterans', we don't leave the shadow topic. We cannot delete shadows without also deleting the original.

Bummer, eh?
