I'm a member on quite a few other forums, and one thing that I've seen that I liked, was an RSS feed from autoblog with auto news and such. From what I understand, you can set it to post all auto news, or you can filter it by manufacturer

We've hashed that one before. The main concern with a chatbox was people would ask tech related questions in it and then that removes the value of having all the information archived in threads for others to use.

I agree with Brian. Even if it was just general lounge chat, it would make other non-technical parts of the forum useless.

Good idea, but not practical for a forum such as this.
