If the SC rattles at idle, or you can take off your sc belt and turn the pulley either way (car off) you will want to replace the coupler
I changed my pulley today on my 92 SSEI and i could turn the pulley when it was off is that a bad thing?

No, that'* normal. When you turn the pulley back and forth, how much slop before you feel resistance? That slop is coupler wear.

When I changed mine at 75K (strictly to document it for the club) it had the beginnings of wear. I'd buy 100k. 75k would be preventive maintenance. But alot dependso on how hard the car has been driven.

About $30. www.zzperformance.com

And about 50 bucks in misc supplies/gaskets.

Is yours only making noise at idle?

I've got a series I and ordered the coupler, then took the alternator off and found out that I need to remove the supercharger to get to the nose. How long did this take you guys? I get a little nervous messing with the fuel lines and injectors, so I might just have a friend do it if it'* gonna be complicated. If it wasn't my main car, I'd tackle it, however.

Plan on 6 hours, assuming you don't need to go get anything you forgot. I don't suggest doing this without alot of research, or a good book. You'll also need a torque wrench.
