Default Work on superchargers

is there anything that can be done to a supercharger to make it more efficient? like, over the years has Eaton made any changes to the m 62 for the series 1 3800'* that could increase power?

also, how much boost can be expected out of a 95 ssei stock and how hard is it to install an aftermarket gauge for more accurate readings?

You can change the pulley size. But I'm sorry I don't know what size you can use on a series 1.

on a 95 you can use a 2.55 off a 92-93 stock pulley

you can port the inlet and the outlet, that is about it, they are small and innefficient

If you decide to port, be carefull, Some people tend to overport and lose efficiency instead of gaining. go slow and make it smooth. air like smooth directional changes, not sudden sharp ones. And if you go with a cold air intake, try not to go off brand due to fitration quality. this is because i have seen a few guys go with an off-brand one and get a lot of crud in there and cause some damage. As i always suggest, when adding more air or removing through exhaust, tell your computer what you did for optimum efficiency and performance. thats just my own opinion.

Todd...don't take this personally but I can't agree with that. A Gen 2 (92-93) or Gen 3 (94-95) M62 is about the most inefficient charger GM ever used. Gen 2 is worse than Gen 3, but porting, polishing can only take one so far.

i think he meant in regards to what a gen 2 or 3 pushes stock, after porting and polishing with a cai and smaller pulley it will be alot MORE impressive than it was when stock

planning on pulling the sc this spring or summer, porting polishing, reinstalling gaskets on the intake manifolds, and possibly porting and polishing the heads while im at it... i want more out of the motor but not a beast... just free runnin ponies

and speaking of doing that... does intense reprogram the series 1 computers??? i havent found anything pre-96 ( SII )
