Default Where did my supercharger whine go??

I recently bought an '03 SSEi with 20,000 miles on it. I have put about 1,000 miles on it since I bought it.

When I bought the car, the whine from the supercharger was quite noticeable. Now, it seems like I barely hear the whine from the supercharger when it'* boosting.

The boost gauge shows normal boost, the car runs good and accelerates the same as it did, the belt is on the supercharger and the supercharger is full of oil.

Has any one else had the whine seem to be barely heard, or have any idea why mine is doing this? Thanks for any ideas.

Dave

Thanks harofreak, maybe I did get used to it. :(

A FWI will also make the air intake noise quite a bit more noticeable too, right?

yes... especially on a cold startup, it will sound like something is horribly wrong, but its completely normal.. its just that the stock airbox muffles the noise

A few days ago, I took the stock air filter out to see if it needed to be replaced. When I put the rubber tubing back on the throttle body and air box, it didn't seem to fit right.

After that, the engine made an awful noise on cold start, sounded like maybe the water pump bearings were going bad. Wasn't quite as bad after the engine warmed up for a minute or so.

Come to find out I put the rubber tubing on backwards and it wouldn't stay on the air box. There was a gap between the air box and the rubber tubing where the air was being sucked in.

I found a picture of the air intake on the site and that'* how I realized I had the tubing on backward.

I love that sound. its like a tornado under the hood The sound coming out the tailpipe is nice too, sounds like I have a small block under the hood.
