You are right compression is an issue but the final cost of swapping in a new engine can be very costly considering using a series 1 sc block can be done with less cost.
I never said you needed a Series II block, I was talking about the Series I L67, although a Series II L67 would not be a bad idea.

I have yet to see 700hp out of a series 2 3.8l
Scott Cooks turbo GTP (he is a member here, BADSSEi)that runs mid 10'* is there or very close to it.

And a 600hp Bonneville was built and successfully run as well. A little more work than we can afford, but very much in the realm of possibility.

Oh anything is possible, it'* just none of us here can afford them! Save a few who do this for a living practically..

And to be honest, I would take Scott'* SSEi before I would take his GTP, its a much nicer car!!!
