Default Supercharger oil empty

I went to change my supercharger oil today and found it pretty much empty. It must be leaking at the snout seal but I see no evidence of that but I do keep the engine wiped clean and might have not noticed a a small leak. I pulled the belt off and I have a little play in the coupler (1/8"), the bearings felt smooth when turning by hand. I replaced the oil drove it for a little while and will change it again this evening. My question is how much damage was caused by the lack of oil. I was going to change the coupler when time and money permit. Do I need a snout rebuilt now? Or is this even worth rebuilding? The supercharge is original with 184,000 miles. I have had the oil changed every 50,000 miles.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cross your fingers and pray it doesn't start making noises. I'd personally rebuild it at this point, but I've done a few and have the tools to do it. In your case, you could get away with the wait and see attitude if you wanted.

Well, on 2nd change the oil was black. Sucked it out with a pump and a medical catheter
No metal sahvings. Maybe, I got lucky. I'll need to check it regularly now. I'll rebuild it when then car comes back from college for Christmas break. My son is taking it with him. What am I going to do with myself now?
