I once asked my local Pontiac dealer about changing SC oil and he told me it runs off engine oil, which I already knew was incorrect. I gave him a lesson on superchargers.

Default Supercharger oil part number

I have seen two different GM part numbers for supercharger oil.
12345982 is a good number, because I have a bottle.

But I have seen mention of # 10953513 does anyone know the difference?

That other number doesn't cross over to GM. Invalid number.

That is what is posted as the part number on this sites Tech forum, it should be corrected.

I changed the oil in my SSEi and my dads Ultra this weekend. GOD was the smell aweful!!! WTF goes on in the */C to get it that foul! Any way, I was suprised to see the color difference between the new oil and what was in our cars. Mine looked dark orange, my dads looked like a glass Guinness! But both cars are now fresh and new!

Yeah, smells bad doesnt it. I guess that the heat in there burns the oil or something.

The change was pretty easy, i wouldnt pay a dealer to do it. Dont get it on your hands though, its poisonous.

My mechanic said it ran on engine oil too - so now I have 2 new mechanics - Me and the Bonneville club.

Cheers,

Andrew

The SC oil contains fatty acids. As in ORGNIC. I'm assuming it'* animal fat.

Not to be a pessimist, but is it possible that this vile smelling dark liquid in the supercharger is some special additive that is put there from the factory? Just wondering.

Yeah, gotta watch that oil. Well Custom88, looks like you're in trouble.

It all starts with a eye twitch, then a major headache accompanied by serious delusions of seeing fast rice machines. It ends with uncontrollable sweating and constantly visiting the Honda Civic webpage.

Sorry dude, its all over for you !!

In all seriousness, I dont think once will hurt you. Just dont drink the stuff ok !

Cheers,

Andrew
