I am in the process of putting a new engine in my bonne, but I need a supercharger gasket. I ordered one from autozone and its not the right one, not even close. Was wondering if any of you might know where to find one? also should I use any gasket sealant when I put it on? And does anyone have any advice about removing the transmission from the eningine? Thats the part im on now, then just gotta wait for the new engine and put everything back together.

We'll need to know what year your engine/car is to give you the correct information on that gasket.

As for the motor and transmission coming apart. Should we assume they are both still in the car, the subframe with both was removed from the car already or they were both pulled together and now need to be seperated?

The car is a 93 ssei. Both the motor and tranny are still in the car, Im just talking about removing the bolts on the bellhousing and the torque converter/driveplate so I can pull the engine out alone. I think I recall reading on here that one of those bolts is a huge pain to get out... just wondering if anyone had any tips.

You should start a seperate topic concerning pulling the engine. It'll get too confusing to discuss the SC gasket and engine removal in the same thread.

Felpro makes the replacement SC gasket for the Series I engine. I bought mine from an AC Delco supplier in Flint. The AC Delco part number crosses back to the Felpro part number. If you're not near an AC Delco supplier try going to a better parts store, like Napa or Carquest. Usually they have the ability to get the harder to find parts.

And, since you've already removed the SC, I suggest changing the SC coupler. It'* in the nose cone, near the pulley. The only way to do it is with the SC removed. It'* good preventative maintenance and would only cost an extra $20 for the coupler and a bottle of SC fluid.

Go to the dealer for the gasket. They have it in stock.

Hang on, the gentleman has a justifiable concern. As I thought, the supercharger gasket does NOT look to be right. It looks like it'* the wrong one. However, it should look like the one in the pix above. Odd, but that'* the way it is. I bought a Felpro from Advance and also an AC Delco from a dealer and they were the same (except the brand).

John Wikoff has had that issue as well. I've personally not had that problem on either of my cars (4 times on the SSEi), or on Driverjohn'* car.

so thats a 92/93 right there not a 94/95 in the pics? gaskets are the same for the gens?

When John Wikoff had that problem, I had a Gen2 and a Gen3 sitting here, and test fitted two different gaskets to both without that problem.

could it be a different LIM causing the wrong fit?
