Here'* one for the record books, I thought I would change the oil in the super charger because its never been done. I read on this forum that it was easy to do with a pump off a spray bottle, so I'm pumping the oil out and its working great, that is until I pulled it out and noticed the small plastic end that acts as a screen was gone. I had no idea that this thing was just pushed on, anyway I tried everything to get it out , first of all I couldnt even see it. I tried usung my shop vac to suck it out , tried a air gun to blow it out, filled it with oil and tried the shop vac again but no luck. So I filled it with oil again and hoping it won't do any damage, I 'll wait a couple of days and change the oil again.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I think that is a first. Good knowledge to add when we are giving out the instructions. Remove any screens at the bottom of the tube before inserting into the snout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am assuming the "screen" was plastic? Things may get a little hot in there. Too bad it didn't "float" up toward the hole, so you could pluck it out with tweezers.

It may do more damage than you think, esp. since those gears spin REALLY fast and the plastic the strainer is made from isn't brittle and won't just get chopped up into tiny little bits. That plastic will probably melt and fuse itself with the gears, and *may* cause accelarated wear on the seals. Best bet is to yank off the 'charger and get into that nosedrive...

yeah dude, that plastic isnt "easy" to break. it does cause a lot of damage. and its not just anytyhing it fell into, it fell in a supercharger. Id unbolt the Supercharger and get it out... one way or another. its not hard to take the charger off. its a couple of hours of work if its your first time, but its worth it.

Can you take the nose piece off without taking off the supercharger? It looks like just a few bolts hold it on, not sure if the pully has to come off first.

No, not a M62. You have to unbolt the SC from the LIM.

i would say Jack up the car, so all the oil goes to the nose. let it sit for a while ,lower and jack it up again. maybe it will work its way down so u can grab it with tweezers. worth a try

You can do this, take out all the oil back out and then take a flexible grabber tool and see if you can feel the plastic screen try and grab it with the grabber tool and take it out otherwise do it right and take out the blower nose and get it out that way.
While your there you can change the bearings and coupler so it can service you more miles worry free.

Yeah, hes right. The whole mechanical grabber seems like a sketchy idea. Id just go with taking the blower nose out and servicing it like that. this way you get that peice out, and you service the SC. 1 2 combo. knock it out.[/quote]
